From The Safeguarding Team
Hello, welcome to the SHARP (School Help Advice Reporting Page) system for OSCA. We are your Safeguarding Team and we are so excited to be part of this support network for the academy and to help with any problems you may have in or out of school.
The SHARP system allows you to make an anonymous report (i.e. you don't have to leave your details if you don't want to) about anything that is troubling you. This can be personal, for example, you may be having difficulties with schoolwork, friendships or your mental well being. The SHARP system can also be used for you to share a concern for someone else .
It is however a good idea to leave your name or school email address otherwise it may be very difficult for us to help. Please be aware that SHARP does not provide any way of replying to your message or tracing you, if you don't leave any contact details.
All reports will be taken seriously and a member of the Safeguarding Team will respond to your message within two days, if not sooner. Replies will be emailed directly to you.
So if you need help and assistance for issues you are facing, or advice about how you can help friends who are experiencing problems you can get in touch by simply clicking on the MAKE REPORT button above.
This is a CONFIDENTIAL way to stop YOU or a FRIEND or SOMEONE you have seen SUFFERING.
In addition to this the student leadership team, teachers and support staff at OSCA are always available to chat and help you through any difficulties. This service is for you and we are always striving to make this the best it can be. If you have any ideas of what else you think we could do to support you please let Mrs Garner know.
Also as well as being a reporting tool SHARP is:
- an educational resource. It contains lots of advice and videos on issues such as alcohol, drugs, bullying, health, community issues, internet safety, surviving secondary school, weapons, hate crime and homosexuality. So please take the time to click on the MENU button above and look through and explore the pages.
- a signpostong service with links to a host of useful contacts including Crime Stoppers, ChildLine, FRANK and CEOP. So make sure you click on The Links page via the MENU button for additional advice and support. These organisations are there for you to access at any time. There is always someone at the end of a call or message; please do not suffer on your own
